On November 22, 2024, the Prospere Learning Trust brought staff together for an inspiring day of professional development and collaboration under the theme "Growing Together."
Strengthening Collaboration Across the Trust
The INSET Day aimed to strengthen connections among colleagues, harnessing communication, collaboration, and innovation across the Trust. Participants engaged in sessions tailored to enhance subject-specific expertise and explore strategies for supporting inclusive education and high-quality teaching and support. Each session highlighted the collective goal of continuous improvement, reflecting the Trust's core values.
“I thought the training was fantastic. I learnt a lot and thought it was really nice to have time with colleagues in a supportive environment.”
Curriculum Excellence and Subject Expertise
Central to the day was a focus on curriculum excellence. Subject-specific CPD sessions provided opportunities to refine pedagogy and deepen understanding in areas ranging from English and Science to Music and Dance. Facilitators led discussions that aligned with evidence-based strategies, addressing topics like poetry analysis in English, curriculum design in Geography, and 3D elements in Art.
"Trust Inset days are the best of the year- they're an opportunity to hear from external experts and I always come away invigorated and excited to try new subject-specific ideas"
Commitment to Inclusive Education
The Trust’s dedication to inclusive education was evident in sessions designed to address diverse student needs. Facilitators explored approaches to remove barriers to learning, ensuring equitable outcomes for all. Groups such as SEND leads and pastoral teams discussed strategies to support learning and achievement for all students.
“I loved the inclusion session in the morning.”
High-Quality Support for All Roles
Beyond teaching staff, the INSET Day recognised the contributions of support teams. Sessions for technicians, data managers, estates teams and marketing teams focused on sharing best practices and professional growth. Catering teams provided exceptional food and refreshments for staff along side taking part in training sessions where they were also treated to some impressive home made bakes by Executive Headteacher, Andy Park. The HR team also toured the schools, providing information on the Trust’s health and wellbeing benefits.
“Excellent CPD opportunity and an excellent way to build trust wide working relationships.”
The "Growing Together" INSET Day served as a testament to what can be achieved when dedicated professionals come together driven by a shared vision and core beliefs. It reinforced the importance of community, professional development, and the collective pursuit of excellence.
